Universal Bike Stand Frequent Questions
Q: Can I use a Universal Bike Stand to transport my Motorcycle in my van?A: Yes. The stand can either be bolted to the floor of your van, or left freestanding. You will still need to use tie down straps, but the stand will keep the Motorcycle upright and secure.
Q: Can I use a Universal Bike Stand to transport my Motorcycle on my trailer?
A: Yes, as long as the Motorcycle and stand will fit on the trailer. Please remember you will still need to use tie down straps.
Q: What is the material sleeve on my Universal Bike Stand for?
A: The material sleeve is required to eliminate any pinching of the wheel when removing your Motorcycle from the stand. The sleeve moves around the tubular frame to prevent the wheel from sticking and to make the removal of your Motorcycle from the stand easier.
Q: The material sleeve on my Universal Bike Stand has worn away. Can I replace it?
A: Yes. If you give us your address details we will send free of charge replacements.
Q: Can I use the Universal Bike Stand for the back wheel on my motorcycle?
A: The Universal Bike Stand was designed with primarily the front wheel in mind. Whether it can be used for the back wheel on a Motorcycle depends on the position of the mud guard and exhaust pipe and is down to individual choice.
Q: Will the Universal Bike Stand damage my wheel?
A: No. If the stand is being used for storage, we would recommend regular checking of your tyre pressures, as you would do normally when not using your Motorcycle for long periods of time. Please ensure you follow the instructions on the User Guide provided.
Q: What are the extra settings for on the Universal Bike Stand?
A: The extra settings on the Universal Bike Stand bracket are to allow you to move the cup further back in the stand. The further back the cup is set on the Universal Bike Stand, the deeper the wheel on the motorcycle will sit, which makes the Motorcycle more stable. The cup can also be turned around which gives an extra set of settings, as the cup pin is set off centre. If the stand is being used freestanding and not bolted to the floor, this can make the Motorcycle harder to remove from the stand.
Q: Will my Motorcycle fit in the Universal Bike Stand?
A: The Universal Bike Stand is designed to suit all models of motorcycles. The stand has six settings, so can be adjusted to suit your Motorcycle and personal needs. The Universal Bike Stand will take all tyre sizes without adjustment, and is suitable for heavy Motorcycles as well as small Motorcycles, such as the Honda Goldwing, or Triumph Rocket III. If you view the page on our website (click here) you will see a User Guide which is provided with every Universal Bike Stand we sell. Provided the stand is used as specified in these guidelines, you should not experience any problems.
Q: Can I use the Universal Bike Stand in conjunction with a rear paddock stand?
A: Yes, the Universal Bike Stand is suitable for use with a rear paddock stand, making the job of fitting the paddock stand much easier as it means you no longer need to have someone holding the front of the Motorcycle, and the Motorcycle is much more stable.
Q: Can I use the Cruiser Lifter on my Motorcycle?
A: The Cruiser Lifter is suitable for use on most Harleys, or other Motorcycles, with a tubular steel undercarriage. The tubular steel frame must be the lowest part on the Motorcycle for it to work properly.
Q: Can I leave my Motorcycle on the Cruiser Lifter for long periods of time?
A: Yes, your Motorcycle is safe to leave on the Cruiser Lifter and is ideal for use while you are cleaning the Motorcycle or maintaining it. The Motorcycle is held upright by the tubular steel undercarriage which is supported by the Cruiser Lifter when the handle is pushed down to the floor.
